On Sunday, Elizabeth played harp with the National Youth Harp Orchestra in the final of The British Harp Chamber Music Competition (under 18 division). They competed against musicians from the NYO as well as winners of the German Musician of the Year contest. They were over-joyed to win 1st prize in the Harps only section and 3rd prize in the mixed ensemble section where Elizabeth sang “Bare foot and free”, a piece composed specifically for the NYHO by Alison Wrenn and “Shenandoah”.
As well as their awards, they received a substatial donation to the NYHO. Their next performances are at Cadogan Hall on 17th July and St Georges Chapel Windsor Castle in early August where The American Youth Harp Ensemble will join them (who previously performed for Bill Clinton and family at The British Embassy in Washington.)
We want to say a huge well done to Elizabeth and the NYHO and wish them the very best for their forthcoming concerts.
