‘The Faraway Tree’

IMG_5035This week in the Reception it has all been about our book for Book Week: ‘The Faraway Tree’. We have had fun making fudge to pay Moon Face to slide down his slippery-slip in the Faraway Tree. We planted our enchanted fairy gardens and enjoyed designing a magic land of our  The dressing-up day and our Faraway picnic was by far the highlight of our week! The dressing up costumes were wonderful; particular mention to Jack (and his mum?!) who made the most amazing papier maché tree and hat – difficult to down in but wonderful!

The children also really relished the fairylike that they had made earlier on. Who would have thought that popping candy cakes could ensure such delightful squeals?!
