It has been another very busy week in Reception. We continued our topic of Turrets and Tiaras with the story of Sleeping Beauty. We discussed why enough sleep is crucial for our wellbeing and hopefully some parents might reap the benefit from this discussion!
We also revisited 2D and 3D shapes this week in Maths and especially enjoyed our session looking at cones and spheres with the added bonus of an ice-cream at the end. We also continued our addition journey, and the children are already showing signs of being good mathematicians!
The highlight of the week was most definitely our trip to Hever Castle. The children listened with great attention to our tour guide and asked really interesting questions along the way. Most of us enjoyed finding our way around the yew maze, but the water maze was most definitely the best part of the day. We were all soaked but boy-oh-boy did we have a lot of fun there! Well done to all the children for carrying their backpacks with lunches and spare clothes: we are very proud to say nobody complained, not even once: the Daily Mile must be making them fitter and stronger!
