Forest School Family Day

25th September 2016

We had such a lovely day in the woods! Don’t just take my word for it; here are some comments from some of the parents who came along! We are hoping to run a similar event at some point in the not too distant future; please do let Beth know if you would be interested in coming along to our next event.

We had the opportunity to learn skills like making a fire by choosing the correct wood and tree bark for burning, starting a fire using a fire steel, sawing and drilling wood with a hand drill, whilst enjoying hot drinks and food cooked on the camp fire! I think having Forest School sessions within the curriculum is a fantastic idea and will be very beneficial and rewarding for the children.” – Lear family

“It was a great outdoor day, and a great experience for all ages!” – Klein family

“Tom & Bruno were very kind and helpful to make us understand every little bit about the day out in the forest. Congratulation to Sarah on such a successful coordination in her first attempt. Looking forward for such day outs in future!!” – Suresh family

It’s so good to see kids learning more about nature and all those precious outdoor skills rather than just spending time on iPads and computers. We all had a great time on Saturday. Not only was it both fun and educational for the children (and adults) but also it was a great way for us to socialise and meet other parents. All in all an excellent event and highly recommended to all children and parents.” – Makolski family
