LAMDA results

25th April 2016

Congratulations to the students who sat their LAMDA exams just before Easter.

I am delighted that we received a 100% pass rate with all students gaining either a merit or a distinction. They all worked incredibly hard and were conscientious and diligent in learning their pieces. Both examiners praised the high standard of their work and their confidence and knowledge in the discussion section of the exam where a number of students achieved full marks. Indeed, a number of students in Year 3 received marks in the high 90’s which is outstanding especially as this was the first time many of them had been entered for LAMDA examinations. Many thanks to all parents who listened and helped with the memorising of pieces. Your support is greatly appreciated.

I will shortly be sending out a letter asking parents to register their child’s interest in sitting LAMDA exam when preparation begins in September. In the meantime, if you would like further details please don’t hesitate to contact me at Well done everyone. Mrs Alison Dawson

Many, many congratulations to all students who sat their LAMDA Introductory Grade examinations in March. This was their first experience of LAMDA examinations and we really could not have asked for anything better as all students achieved a distinction grade.

I have been delighted by how hard all the students have worked with all pieces perfectly memorised and remembered even during the actual examination which can be quite daunting and nerves can kick in! They have been enthusiastic, supportive with the rest of their group and a delight to work with every week. The students all made tremendous progress and I am looking forward to watching them develop their full potential over the forth-coming years.

Many students achieve full or high marks for their discussion with the examiner which is outstanding. This vital part of the examination is worth 50% of the marks and an important life skill that it is never too early to start learning and practising.

A special mention about Anishka P who achieved 100%. The awarding of full marks is very, very rare and a splendid accomplishment. Well done Anishka and everyone!
