Lots of counting and remembering

13th November 2015

We are enjoying our Nativity practices and doing our best to remember our lines and say the lines clearly. Do keep practising the lines at home!

In PSED we talked about the significance of Remembrance Day and each class designed a spe-cial wreath with poppies and leaves using our hand prints. The teachers were very impressed at how si-lent and still the Reception children stood throughout the ceremony at 11am.

We have been working very hard on numbers to twenty, focusing on place values and counting sets. We also had to count out Autumn leaves and thread them to make a leaf chain. Next week in Maths we will continue to work on numbers but we will also be looking at money and the value of each coin. You can support your child at home by talking about and look-ing at different coins.

We have almost finished all our set 1 sounds and we are working at listening to sounds in words and blending to make our own words.

Keep an eye out for our fabulous ‘Autumn Art’ going up around the classrooms. We have been talking about animals that hibernate; and looking at all the beautiful leaves falling from the trees.
