Reception

Reception have finished learning all of their RWI Set 1 sounds and have moved onto the next phase of literacy learning. We are the very proud owners of new word boxes which our teachers will begin testing on Tuesday. We also completed our first piece of independent writing using our phonetic knowledge and Fred Fingers. In Forest school, we built dens and collected autumnal leaves in clear sacks to make our own owls. It was fun but hard work and we were rewarded with hot chocolate in the woods. In Art we used crayons and templates to create leaf rubbings as part of our Autumn leaves topic. In Maths, the Number blocks helped us firm up our number knowledge by taking them on a picnic and using visual and practical maths up to number 8. Dough Disco remains a firm favourite with all of Reception including the teachers, our hand muscles are getting stronger by the day.
