Reception News – Summer Term 2017 – Week 2

2nd May 2017

Full steam ahead this week as we work on the properties of flat and solid shapes in maths. We investigated corners and sides, and if they can roll or slide. Hexagons and pentagons did catch us out!

Our writing is also improving so much as we are using more of our difficult sounds like “ee” and “or” in our work. Please Mummies and Daddies: don’t forget to write in reading diaries so we know you have read at home. At this time in the year it is so important to be reading the books sent home.

In Forest School we loved making homes for minibeasts. Some homes were very fancy and involved ant bridges and passageways to bedrooms. The children so enjoy being out in the woods and they really let their imaginations run wild! Such fun!

Virtual Open Day

Another Virtual Open Day!

Our next Virtual Open Day will take place on Saturday 3 October where we will share a link to an exclusive Open Morning page. The page will contain more information about our school and videos showing ‘A day in the Nursery/Pre-Prep/Prep School’.

Should you wish to speak to the Headmaster & Head of Pre-Prep in person, you are also invited for a 1:1 (socially distanced) chat at your convenience.

To book an appointment, or to register your place for the Virtual Open Day, please email our Registrar, Kathryn Billingham-West on
