Reception News – Week 4

1st October 2016

This week in Reception we have been looking at anything that flaps and flies in the jungle. There are so many colourful birds to choose from, but our favourite seems to be toucans and parrots. We’ve had our first introduction to air dry clay, as part of our art work curriculum and have made the most
fantastic colourful and quirky jungle birds you can imagine!

In maths we are still working on recognising, and writing our numbers to 10 as well as counting groups of up to 10 items with accuracy. We are learning more and more sounds in RWI and some of us are now trying to write some CVC words on our own.

Next week we will be looking at jungle animals that slither and slide. If you have any odd socks at home that you are willing to donate please drop them into the Reception classroom next week!

Virtual Open Day

Another Virtual Open Day!

Our next Virtual Open Day will take place on Saturday 3 October where we will share a link to an exclusive Open Morning page. The page will contain more information about our school and videos showing ‘A day in the Nursery/Pre-Prep/Prep School’.

Should you wish to speak to the Headmaster & Head of Pre-Prep in person, you are also invited for a 1:1 (socially distanced) chat at your convenience.

To book an appointment, or to register your place for the Virtual Open Day, please email our Registrar, Kathryn Billingham-West on headspa@copthorneprep.co.uk.
