The girls managed to brave the first 5 minutes of rain and wind during their match away against St Christopher’s. The home side had the better start by setting the pace and being determined on the ball. The girls had to soak up a lot of pressure and thanks to Isabella (player of the match) managed to save most shots. St Christopher’s kept coming and our defence started to show more cracks and allowed the home side to sneak one in. The girls did manage to create some of their own attacks and shortly before half time, the ball fell to Jemima who increased her speed and skilfully bet the defenders and GK to level the scores.

The second half was much better from Copthorne; they held their space and were more aggressive on the ball, this helped us be the more attacking side. Both sides were very evenly matched, not many scoring opportunities as in the first half, the goals that did come in the 2nd half,  came from breakaways and being caught off guard.

Team: Isabella, Lila, Emily W, Abigail, Jemima, Ruby and Grace.
