1st IX Rounders v Brambletye

8th May 2016

Lost 5½-12½

Brambletye turned up for this fixture with a well drilled team. The Copthorne girls were on the back foot right from the start with Emily losing the toss and the team having to bat first! However, Amber got us off to a positive start, making good contact with the ball and strong running; putting the Brambletye fielders under pressure. This was the highlight of our first innings!

We were unable to find any gaps in the Brambletye field and they backed each other up very well.

Rounders is such an unforgiving game if you don’t make contact with the ball and too often our girls were stumped out on 1st post today. Also in the field we must hold on to those catches!

The second innings was much the same and we were beaten by a much better team.

Well done to Amber who was voted best batter, and top scorer with 3 rounders; and Elise who was voted best fielder. Thank you to our supporters.
