1st VI Indoor Hockey v Brambletye – Won 4-3

Knowing the opposition were strong, we actually started the game evenly matched. Copthorne were straight into attack with confidence and an outstanding performance from Elise who kept the ball away from our defence line. As time played on Brambletye soon began knocking the ball freely and started to put us under pressure. Federica played strong, but with 3 attacking at times it was difficult for her to defend. First half score was 2-2. Second half began and Georgia, Allana and Sasha had to step up their game. Once we found our positions we started to pass the ball out to the wings which seemed to play across the goal for a superb goal by Elise. 3-2. Brambletye scored almost straight from the whistle, Copthorne were not concentrating, hence why they scored. 3-3 the match was very tense now. Shaan came on for (Allana) to hold up the defence. Balls were firing across both goal lines it was a relief to see it was advantage to play to us. Federica was industrious in defence and smashed the ball straight down the middle, great control by Georgia then a quick pass to Elise who then struck the ball into the bottom right corner. Well done to all for a great team effort. Special mentions to, Avni in goal for making a few great saves. Player of the match, without a doubt, Elise Gayler.
