We arrived at Brambletye and it was soon very clear that the court was like a skating rink! With Sophie getting a bloody knee in the warm up!
The state of the courts unnerved the Copthorne girls and after the first quarter we found ourselves down 4-0. We slowly improved in the second quarter but it turned out to be too late as Brambletye had settled much quicker and steadily notched up the goals.
Well played Sophie, who still managed to be all over the court (both on and off her feet!) with some wonderful interceptions and some great marking. We lost this game 5-10, but certainly improved as the match went on.
After a 20 minute wait Beechwood arrived and due to the lateness of their arrival we ended up only playing 2 x 7 minute halves.
The Copthorne girls started really well and scored 2 goals very quickly with some good passing between Charlotte and Jo in the shooting D. However, our passing was rushed and we didn’t play our best, but again Sophie dominated the court with her athleticism and we managed to hang on to the lead winning 3-1.
Well done girls. MJ
