1st VII Netball v Cottesmore

3rd February 2017

The first quarter started very well with Rosie and Josie dodging and racing up and down the court passing it to the shooters, Regina and Khushi, who made the score 1-0. Then Lila came into play with great interceptions and great defending from Sheen and Jemima making the score at the end of the first quarter 3-0.

In the second quarter, Cottesmore were not going without a fight yet they still could not get a single goal in. Amazing defence from Isabel who had just came on as WD. Rosie and Josie again working hard with help from the defenders who got it up to Katie and Regina which turned the score to 5-0 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter we started getting tired and let in two goals, but this gave us a kick. Sheen was getting good passes to Rosie, who got it to Jemima and Jemima had very good mid-court play with the ball. Josie helped again getting it to the shooters to make the score at the end of the quarter 9-2.

The last quarter was a close one and at the start you could tell that Copthorne gave it their all in the past three quarters, and they were just about ready to take on the fourth. There was a quick goal starting with good court play from Lila, Josie, Isabel and Rosie who got it into Regina, who scored. Cottesmore were improving in every quarter and they managed to score 5 goals. Lila kept intercepting and passed the ball to Josie who passed it in to Khushi.

At the end of the match we won!! (It was a tough fight though!) The end score was 12-7 with six goals from Regina and Khushi each and excellent play by Katie. Girl of the game was Rosie for great sight for the game and captaincy. This week we were very confident and did our best! WELL DONE GIRLS!
