1st VII Netball v Great Walstead – Won 21-18

The Copthorne girls made a really good start in this first fixture against Great Walstead, scoring the first 3 goals really quickly, but our opposition soon settled and we finished the first quarter 5-5.                                                                            There were some moments of perfect netball from all the girls, with some lovely flowing movements and passing.  Becky and Katherine worked really well in the attacking ‘D’ with some fast passes and accurate shooting.  However, these perfect moments were overshadowed by too many inaccurate passes and silly mistakes.  We gave the ball away too often, especially in the 4th quarter.  However, the game was won by Copthorne in the third quarter, where we were able to pull away with a healthy lead to hang on to the win.  The lesson to be learnt in this game (and in others) is when we have the upper hand  “keep possession”!

Well done to the team: Georgia, Tasha, Katherine, Romy, Subin and special mention to players of the match Elise and Becky.  MJ
