1st XI Cricket v Cottesmore

26th June 2016

One of only 2 cup matches all year and we proudly arrived with the “Bank Holiday Cup” having claimed it only last year. What a disappointing end to what had promised to be such a great season. Bowled out for a mere 52 in only 12 overs was not in the plan. I think it was best summed up by the captain who said after our innings “well that went well!” We batted poorly and to defend such a low total was only a possibility if we took early wickets. Despite the best efforts of the 2 Zacs we were unable to do this and Cottesmore won back the cup with some comfort. Disappointing but cricket is such an unforgiving game.
Thanks to all the boys for their efforts and to our loyal band of parents who have supported no matter what. JC
