Students with headteacher

1st XI Cricket v Shoreham College – April 2017

1st May 2017

First day of the new cricket season for us and the classic weather, sun, cloud, rain, sleet, snow and hail. Deep joy. However, our cricket was much brighter than the weather. New captain Zac C and a very new look team with only Brad, Luke, Kieron and Josh being the old stagers from last year. Regina, the first of I hope, of many girls to represent the school at this level in cricket, (we have now started cricket sessions with the U8/9 girls on a weekly basis).

Bowling first there was real energy in the field and wickets fell at regular intervals. Catches from Beau and Luke together with a couple of run outs suggested real concentration in the field. Wickets for Zac, Luke, Kieron, Josh and Regina restricted the opposition to 51 for 9 at tea. Josh (31) and Kieron (15) opened the reply and quickly got on top of the bowling. Scoring rapidly they reached the target in just over 8 overs. A great way to start the season although there may well be tougher challenges in the future.
