1st XI Football v Brambletye – Lost 1-4

Conceding a goal within the first 20 seconds of a match is never ideal.  A lack of tackling and aerial challenges cost us dearly in the end as Brambletye marched into a 4 nil half time lead.  A resurgent Copthorne came out for part 2, upping our aggression levels, winning tackles all of the pitch and competing for and winning headers. It was the cliché game of 2 halves. Our goal came through Sam P whose shot cross found the net after a great leap from Jacob L put the keeper off.  Jacob then came close once more hitting the crossbar from a header. It was a fine 2nd half performance, the best of the season so far, capped off by a sensational display from Sven K at the back.  He tackled ferociously, attacked balls in the air and was always on hand to mop up any loose balls.   Let’s now build on this performance now we know what we can do when we work together and put the effort in.
