1st XI Football v Pennthorpe – Lost 1-4

This was most definitely a match to forget. After last week’s superb performance against Brambletye, in the Sale Cup, in which we battled hard and created good scoring chances only to be held 1 all at the final whistle Wednesday’s trip to Pennthorpe should have been a game for the taking. This however, was not the case. Slick passing, tough tackling and movement off the ball were all missing. As a small side we have adapted our style of play so that terrier like pressure in defence and short, quick passes in attack has enabled us to play to our strengths and test the opposition. In a performance that lacked any “get up and go” we got exactly what we deserved. I hope this result has taught the boys a serious lesson and that they can come back in full flow next week. On Monday we start afresh! Goal scored by Paul Delaney.
