1st XI v Hazelwood

21st April 2016

Sun at last and the first cricket of the year. I have to say that I was excited by the prospect as the boys have looked good in training. Funny game cricket as we did not make the most auspicious start losing 2 wickets in the opening over. Things did not improve as we moved to 12 for 3. Ollie (14) and Luke (33) gave us some respectability but 79 after 20 overs never really looked enough and so it proved. Some rather wayward bowling and the constant 4 ball delivery almost ever over mean’t that A weak Hazelwood ¬†side Ria n out comfortable winners with nearly 6 overs to spare. Disappointing all round but the talent is there to make this a successful season however we need to bat with greater intensity and bowl with rather more control. We are more than capable but need to focus ready for Windlesham next week.
