1st XI v Pennthorpe

Wickets fell at regular intervals as Bradley Gayler batted through our innings. A score of 61 not out is exceptional at this level and against a very good Pennthorpe attack. Kai Everington played little cameo at the end with some excellent cover drives as we finished on 116 for 8 at tea. The top 3 Pennthorpe batsman were accomplished cricketers and proceeded to attack our bowling. Charlie Ead was

super and finished with 2 for 22 but it was the spin twins of Bradley and Josh Norman who managed to apply the breaks to the scoring albeit a little late. The opener managed a rapid 65 before being caught by Jonny Howard off Charlie Ead but the writing was on the wall by this stage. Despite taking two wickets with the scores level Pennthorpe emerged as victors by 4 wickets. A very entertaining game and overall a good performance given our lack of cricket in the last two weeks.

Cottesmore on Friday 11.00am start and, of course the Fathers v the Leavers. I am pleased to say that I have had no withdrawals from the Dads so I will see you on Wednesday.
