1st XV v Brambletye

Not the way we would have wanted to finish on the end of a heavy defeat to a good Brambletye but that is the way it goes sometimes. >From my perspective, which was very nicely supported by the captain after the game, we have come a long way since last November. The team has had a good season with equal wins and defeats but what is more important is that they have developed as both rugby players and individuals. Any differences between them stay off the field and on it they have really gelled and supported each other. My aim is to produce better players at the end of the season than they were at the beginning and this is certainly true this year. They are a group that I have very much enjoyed coaching and to those moving on at the end of the year I wish you every success. I would like to publicly thank the captain, James Francis, for all his support and his very positive and unselfish attitude both on and off the field. I would also like to thank the loyal, and frequently very cold, supporters club who have followed the boys around Sussex and have always done the right thing which is positive encouragement from the sidelines. Have a great Easter and then it’s back for cricket and those long balmy summer days!!
