2nd IX v Brambletye

14th September 2016

The mighty 2’s were in fine form this afternoon against Brambletye. The weather was hot and so were the 2’s as we quickly gained the ascendancy scoring through Joseph and Nick. The boys played very well scoring at regular intervals as Joseph completed a hat-trick and a final goal from captain Kai. The defence were solid with Luca, Austin, Freddie and Karan quickly snuffing out the Brambletye forwards. The midfield of Jacob, Sam and Ben were everywhere making tackles and playing telling balls up to the front three. At 5-0 the game was won by half time.

The second half was, by comparison disappointing as a number of the boys stopped playing seeing the game as already won which is something we will have to guard against in future fixtures. We did miss a number of chances and the keeper pulled off some good saves however, we actually lost the second half 1-0. Overall a good win but complacency has no place on the football field.

Well done boys, a great result on a great day.
