Students with headteacher

2nd IX v St Christopher’s

12th November 2015

Probably the best footballing side we have faced this term and it was clear from the off that this was going to be a rear guard action with us hoping to catch them on the break. Ben, back in goal, performed heroics making a string of excellent saves. To say we were under the pump was an understatement as we barely managed to get out of our own half. Still the boys battled manfully to make last ditch tackles and blocks. On a rare foray into the opposition half a good combination between Kieron, Kye, and Rohan after the ball had been well won by Luke saw Josh calmly smash the ball into the roof of the net. Somehow we were only 2 – 1 down at half time.

The second half was more of the same with real determination shown by the boys and we could have actually pinched a draw in the dying minutes but it was not to be. I was very impressed by the way that the team continued to try and play football in very trying circumstances. One more to go and I am sure that I will witness the same battling spirit.
