2nd VI Cricket v Cumnor

13th May 2016

Twenty twenty cricket is all about scoring runs quickly. Unfortunately on Wednesday this turned out to be a bit of a struggle as the Copthorne batting line up failed to deliver. After seven overs there was only 15 runs on the board, way short of where the score needed to be. Elliott (11) and Austin (10) were the highest scorers and the only batsmen to get into double figures. After twenty overs Copthorne ended up on 80-5 with the extras column being by far and away the highest scorer of the afternoon.

The Cumnor batting reply was quick and direct with the batsmen hitting the ball to the boundary on numerous occasions. The pick of the bowlers was Kye who took three wickets and bowled a tight line from round the wicket. Even though the bowling was accurate the Cumnor boys seemed to pick the ball easily and ended up reaching their target with 6 overs still to spare.

Next week the boys must concentrate on scoring runs quickly otherwise they could find themselves in a similar situation.
