2nd VII Hockey v Great Walstead

21st October 2016

We knew from the beginning that playing a team on their home astro is going to be a challenge and we also knew Great Walstead would be a very strong side. However, Copthorne played incredibly and rose to the challenges that the game created. The opposition had lots of power behind their passes and hits but the girls did all they could to defend the ball. Lily worked her socks off in defence, stepping up and intercepting the ball on many occasions. Lila and Isabel also worked tirelessly through the match not only pushing up but getting back to support the defenders. Every time the girls did win the ball they looked to pass it out wide and then to the forwards upfront, giving the home side a few scares in their own defensive D. In the end Great Walstead comfortably winning 0-5.

Well done to Isabella who was voted player of the match for her countless number of shots saved.
