2nd VII Netball v Christ’s Hospital

3rd December 2016

The girls were a bit uncertain during their 1st quarter against Christ Hospital because they had no idea about what the opposition would be like, or how well they played. At the end of the 1st quarter Copthorne were only 1 goal behind. After a quick chat the girls steamed ahead with some amazing passes from Abigail and Lily, and some brilliant shots from all around the D from Jemima and Shriya. At half time, we were leading 7-2.

By the 3rd quarter the girls looked very settled and confident. Although we continued to pass accurately on attack and being back up by Isabel, Katherine and Leah in defence making good interceptions, we couldn’t quite keep up the conversion rate in the D, but still managed to hold onto a slim 8-6 lead.

Knowing that the final quarter was a crucial one, the girls stepped up and worked well as a unit with yet more good passing. Our shooters once again found the net on many more occasions. We pulled ahead again and maintained the lead all the way to the end of the match.

Well done to Abigail for being voted player of the match, she worked like a machine to get the ball out of defence and on to the shooters.

Team: Abigail, Isabel, Jemima S, Shriya, Isabella, Katherine and Lily-Grace.
