This week the 2nds, which consisted of year 7’s and 6’s travelled into the unknown as we were up against Duke if Kent, a school we have not yet played. The girls remained upbeat and looked forward to the challenge as it was potentially their last game of the session. The opposition, who were a lot taller and quicker set the tempo with accurate passes and well timed interceptions. For most of the game Lila, Isabel and Abigail worked their socks off to try and break down and defend the constant attacks. With each quarter Copthorne managed to build on their game play and entered the attacking circle with some well worked passages of play, but unfortunately we were pressured into shooting very quickly before being marked, resulting in a few missed opportunities. By the final quarter the girls were tired but kept fighting, Macie even surprised herself with a fabulous goal. The home side comfortable winners in the end.

Tough match fought and played well. Player of the match: Abigail.
