The girls had a tough first match against Lingfield Notre Dame. Right from the start the opposition stamped their authority on the game, setting the tempo, getting to every ball first and their shooters confidently stepping in for shots. Our defenders worked hard to put pressure onto the visiting side’s shooters and our mid-court players tried to keep the ball in our possession as much as possible. As the game progressed there were moments of great play and steady improvements within each quarter. The girls were looking to change the channels, giving the player with the ball more passing options and in turn giving more purposeful and accurate passes. Matches can be tough when the opposition are by far the better side and determined to win but we need to take the positives and to be feistier at times.

Well done to Catherine for being voted player of the match for her work rate and interceptions. HP
