2nd XI Cricket v Brambletye

In blustery conditions the 2nd XI hosted neighbours Brambletye in a twenty20 fixture. Put into bat first we struggled to capitalise on some poor bowling and had to rely heavily on wides and no balls to bump up the scoreboard. With Brambletye holding their stronger bowlers back, our task would become more difficult to add to our total when they arrived at the crease. We finished the innings having batted through all 20 overs, an excellent achievement in itself, having scored 61 runs for a loss of 6 wickets.

With a short target to chase we knew that our bowling had to be on point in order to win the game. The match was finely balanced between the 6th and 10th overs with wickets lost and runs scored pretty even at that stage, however, a couple of loose overs meant that Brambletye cut down our slim lead. Eventually they reached the required 62 runs in the 15th over having lost 4 wickets in the process. MA
