2nd XI Cricket v Hazelwood

The first match of the cricket season for the 2nd XI cricket team took place at home. As we lost the toss and were sent in to bat. We lost a few quick wickets but Ben Voller and Sam Mayhew managed to stabilize the innings. We ended up with 68 for the loss of 7 wickets at the end of our 20 overs.

It was going to take some bowling performance to hold the opposition to such a low score but the boys were confident that it was possible. Lani Obikoya and Evan Penlington opened the bowling, and were very economical, with Evan taking the first wicket of the innings. Jack Glascott came on first change with Ben Voller at the other end. Jack managed to grab 3 wickets for himself and Ben 2. To finish Sam Mayhew and Edward bowled 1 over each with both of them taking 2 wickets to end the innings.

All in all a good start to the season, however we do need to make sure that we post a more substantial total next match. DH
