2nd XI Football v Brambletye – Lost 1-2

Scorer: Joe. Man of the match: Luke

Our winning start to the season came to an end in a close fought game at Brambletye this week. We played poorly in the first half, but managed not to concede a goal, though our opponents hit the woodwork at least twice. In the second half we battled harder and really came into the game more. We scored first with a good header from Joe off a corner. It looked like we might go on and win the game; our confidence was up, but thenĀ  Brambletye equalised through a man sliding in to score at the far post. The game could still have gone either way, but in the last minute of play they stole the victory with a neat lobbed finish over the keeper. We need to stick to our positions more and compete harder for the ball. We were slightly shown up today by the best opponents we have come up against thus far. Well done to Luke who tackled excellently throughout the game.
