2nd XI Football v Cottesmore – Lost 0-2

Our man of the match: Dominic
This week’s away match at Cottesmore saw us playing in the worst conditions that we have had thus far. Only two faithful mums made it out to brave the rain and cold, and the ball was skidding around the field wildly, and occasionally stopping abruptly in the odd puddle on the pitch. They don’t have to put up with this in the premiership! Cottesmore adjusted better than we did to the conditions, and passed the ball around quite nicely in the first half. They deserved their two goals in that period, but in the second half we really came back quite strongly. We created a couple of good scoring opportunities, but unfortunately could not get the ball in the back of the net, and so we came away with nothing but some slightly restored pride. Dominic in our goal did very well and Joe played solidly at left back. Bertie was a constant problem for the Cottesmore defence, but on the whole we did not play as positively as we can. A close game, which would have been closer if we’d battled a little harder.
