Having sat and watched the U10s play their match the girls were excited to be playing indoors this week.
We started the match strongly after Harley lost the toss with Daisy intercepting the first pass to start our attack. Great passing from all the mid court players allowed Biba her first shot on goal, which she converted.
Our next goal, which was scored from distance by Ella came after just 4 passes from the centre; great link play between Harley, Layla and Biba! It was clear after 3 minutes that the first 7 players were too strong for the opposition, and we finished the first quarter with a great lead 6-0 with 3 goals apiece from Ella and Biba.
Lots of position changes followed with Harley and Lowenna putting on the shooters bibs. This proved a much more even quarter with our hosts scoring 2 goals (1 with a little help from Mrs J!) but we still kept our noses in front with 2 goals from Harley and 1 from Lowenna.
The third quarter saw Layla score 2 and Isobel 1 with no reply from the opposition as they were unable to get the ball passed Scarlett and Biba into their shooters.
The final quarter; the rule was that we had to pass the ball in the attacking third 4 times before a shot was allowed. This proved a good exercise as although our passing was secure, Daisy and Victoria were unable to score. Well done girls and a huge thank you to our parents for supporting as always.
Intensive training lessons to follow in preparation for a tough match against Brambletye next week!
Player of the match was Biba! Well done. MJ
