1st VII at Brambletye

The last rugby of the season at Brambletye and a strong 7’s competition.

First game up against Cumnor and we played well but missed a number of scoring opportunities due to a lack of precision. The big state secondary of Sackville were next and we were well beaten on the day and so it was a simple matter of winning our final game against the Wanderers to secure a semi final slot. The win was secured in the first half but poor play in the second very nearly let them back in. The win was not without cost as Andrew suffered an injury to join an already limping James on the bench.

The semi was against a big Imberhorne who chose to play their best rugby of the tournament against us. Despite this we had a number of chances which unfortunately went begging and so denied the boys a second bash at Cumnor in the final. Cumnor won the final comfortably but it was a great day and our boys certainly did themselves proud as they have throughout the season.

Thanks for the spectator support which is always welcome.  JC
