Colts ‘D’ Football v Brambletye – Won 3-1

The match looked promising right from the outset with an Oliver goal within 10 seconds of the kick-off. He along with Max and  Freddy kept nibbling away at the defence of Brambletye but were unable to convert for the rest of the half. Brambletye had their  moments in the half where they threatened and it was the defence of Ross Knight, Connor and Luke that kept them out until they eventually scored a lucky goal just before half time. Into the second half and we saw a revitalised Copthorne team. From the resumption of play Copthorne again attacked the goal with a number very close shots and the persistence paid off with Oliver bagging a second goal and Max chiming in for one as well later in the half. Alex pulled off two superb saves in goal and after the unlucky goal in the first half was an  impenetrable brick wall. Another display of talent and sportsmanship, well done boys!  AC
