Colts ‘A’ Football v Brambletye

15th September 2016

After a win at Shoreham last week, the Colts ‘A’ side were brought crashing back down to earth in their encounter with Brambletye this Wednesday. Brambletye played some nice football, but I was very disappointed by our lack of defensive awareness in the first half. We did not mark our opponents correctly and communicate in defence, and by half time found ourselves losing 6-1, with the only positive being a goal from Luca after nice play between him, Louis and Liban.

During the break, we spoke about our defensive problems and came out with a lot more focus and determination. We only conceded 2 goals in the second half which was a significant improvement, but we were helped in this by a couple of fantastic saves from our man of the match and goal-keeper Cosmic. We should have scored at least one more goal, and came closest when Esaam headed the ball onto the bar, but unfortunately we ended up being well beaten. We have a lot of work to do to improve our performances in future games.
