Colts ‘A’ Football v Cottesmore

28th September 2016

The Colts A’s got their second win of the season by playing their best football to date. We survived a few scares in the first minutes, as Cottesmore hit the bar and fired narrowly wide. Cosmic just managed to keep another early shot out, but then our defence got organised. Liban closed down Cottesmore’s most dangerous player and Sam R also did a very good defensive job in central midfield. Louis won the ball many times through determined tackling, and then we began to look to attack. Louis passed a nice ball through to Sam P who in turn set up Luca who very coolly took the ball around the keeper and scored. Our second followed shortly after when Sam R calmly passed to Luca to finish inside the near post. Sam P and Luca had connected several times through excellent movement and our third goal came from a quick throw from Luca to Sam who outsprinted the defence to finish comfortably. Liban and James had to keep things tight with good organisation at the back, and Cosmic made one further excellent save before the game ended. Well played boys, an outstanding performance!
