Colts A Football v Cumnor House

20th November 2015

Lost 2-6

Scorers: Luca A, Ben C

Our last match of the season was a tough game against Cumnor on a slightly wet afternoon. For the second time in 2 weeks we started terribly, conceding 2 goals inside the first minute of play. We seemed not to be in the game at all with no real tackles put in during this time. However, after the second goal, we suddenly came to life, and started to play some of the best passing football we have produced this season. Sam D was linking up very nicely with his team-mates on the left, And Ben C started to be more dominant in midfield. Luca A scored an excellent goal to bring us back into the game. This was his 10th of the season, equalling the Colts As record for a season. We conceded another to go into the break at 3-1. In the second half we continued to pass and move into space. Jacob pushed up quite high, and with an extra man in mid-field we did cause Cumnor a lot of problems, but this also allowed them space in attack and the goals contin-ued to flow in the second half. Cumnor added another 3, and we were unfortunate only to get 1 ourselves with a lovely finish from Ben C after nice passing involving Joe, Jacob and Sam. Luca P was our deepest outfield player and he made a lot of important tackles and interceptions, with Ben in goal also making some nice saves.

The score-line was a little harsh on us, and we did play some lovely attacking football, but were a little too open at the back against a very capable side. Well played boys, excluding the first 2 minutes, this was an excellent way to finish the season! DJ
