Colts A Football v St Christopher’s

13th November 2015

Lost 1-5

Scorer: Sam D

We knew this was going to be a tough match long in advance since we saw how good a side St Christopher’s were at the Lancing 6-a-side tournament earlier in the year. However, we made things even more difficult for ourselves by not competing very much at all in the first half. We were half hearted in the tackle and reluctant to move to receive the ball in attack and deservedly found ourselves down 4-0 at half time. I made it very clear to the boys how disappointed I was in their performance and they did come out in the second half with much better spirit. We started to compete, and although the game was already lost, managed to score one ourselves and only conceded one in the second half. Sam D scored his second of the season from just inside the attacking half with a nicely placed shot from range after realising that the keeper was out of position after a goal kick. Everyone started working harder and tracking their opponents in the second half; it’s just a shame we didn’t do this earlier! DJ
