Our penultimate game of the season was going to be a tough encounter against a strong Lancing Prep.   The plan was to win the toss and bowl first as the clouds gathered and the wind increased from the school end. This proved difficult as the only thing that Mr Pinnock could find for the toss was a consortium rubber from his desk. So a game of guess what hand the rubber was in was played by the skippers, James lost and we were put in on a lively track. We played  straighter this week which was very good to see but despite our improved concentration we could only manage 41 with Avinash top score of 14. A quick turn around was on the cards and a chance for some early wickets as Lancing reversed their batting order. A great opening over from James N taking 3 wickets but with their star players in the middle order the big test was just coming up for the boys. James N  almost got their skipper caught behind early but a faint nick off the thigh pad was not enough for Dickie Bird Pinnock to raise his finger for a fourth time. We picked  up another wicket just before Lancing got over the line. Another game where everyone showed great commitment you can all very very proud of your effort, the school are.  Good performances today  from James N with the ball and Avinash with the bat.
