Colts B Cricket v Brambletye – Summer 2017

4th May 2017

The Colts B team began their cricketing campaign on a typical day at the start to the cricket season with rain, low temperatures and high winds.

Ronnie won the toss and elected to field. Brambletye batted solidly with one player scoring over 40. Copthorne bowled and fielded well with some excellent ground fielding and catching. Ruari took a good catch at cover and Ewan a excellent caught and bowled.

The attitude and field placement was good and Henry as wicketkeeper only allowed two byes all afternoon, unfortunately off the final ball of the innings. We used eight bowlers and only bowled 15 wides in the whole match a testament to the hard work done in games lessons. Brambletye finished with 95.

In our innings, openers Will and Matthew put on 59 with some excellent shots and positive running between the wickets, although boosted by a few wides by Brambletye . With solid batting the boys won by 7 wickets with 2 overs to spare. A fantastic start in cold and wet conditions, most pleasing was every single boy contributed to a solid win, well done boys .

Team: Ronnie, William, Ewan, Matthew, Rauri, Henry, Dhruv, Cosmic, Ben, Jake and Alex .
