Colts B Football v Brambletye – Won 4-0

Scorers:  Louis, Sam S, Charlie and Cosmic

The Colts got back to winning ways this week with a nice victory at home to Brambletye. It was a wet Wednesday, but our players managed the conditions well and immediately began to put pressure on our opponents.

We dominated territory and possession, and hit the post early on with a nice shot from Sam, but we needed to be a little more composed when we had the ball to really create better chances. Nevertheless, we were 1-0 up at the break, with Louis getting into the box, hitting a shot at the keeper which he could not control and Louis snapped up the rebound.

In the second half we continued to dominate, but were a little calmer in possession, with Harrison especially linking up well with his team-mates. Liban and Antony did not have much to do in defence, but coped very well with any attacks that came their way, and it wasn’t long before both Sam and Charlie scored goals thanks to some nice powerful shooting. At 3-0 up we rotated our players a little. Cosmic who had had very little to do in our goal played up front and Antony and Liban were pushed into midfield. They did very well, and Cosmic was delighted to score our final goal with a classic poacher’s short range finish. Well done to all the boys, but we will face tougher opponents next week against Pennthorpe! DJ
