After a couple of tough weeks, the Colts B put in a fantastic performance against Cottesmore on Wednesday as they found their shooting boots and put in six goals in an excellent match. The opening exchanges saw Copthorne show their dominance without managing to score a goal. Shams was a constant threat up front and the Cottesmore defenders struggled to deal with his power as he held the ball up well for Henry, Marcos, Archie and Ronnie to run onto. Copthorne finally made the pressure count with a well worked goal as Shams found Henry in acres of space and he coolly slotted the ball home to put the boys one up. This was quickly followed by a second goal as Shams bravely put his foot into a goal mouth scramble and put the ball in whilst getting kicked in the process. There was time for Cottesmore to have one chance before the interval with stand in goalkeeper Henri making a good save.

The second half saw further Copthorne dominance and soon the goals began to flow. Defenders Adam, Ronnie and Wesley did not have much to do in truth but made tackles at crucial times when needed. Henry scored his second of the game as the Cottesmore defence opened up followed by another well taken goal by Shams. Adam got on the act as somehow he found himself in the opposition box and put in a rebound from the keeper to make it 5-0. There was still time for Henry to complete his hat trick with a goal on the final whistle as he smashed the ball past the Cottesmore keeper giving him no chance at all. A 6-0 win was thoroughly deserved and the boys played really well and deserved their win. There may be tougher tests to come but this win should keep the confidence high.
