Colts B Hockey v Brambletye A – Lost 1-2

This was the first hockey match I have seen this season and what an interesting match it proved to be, when both teams got going! The girls arrived at Brambletye to find they were actually playing an U11A side but this did not deter them, in fact it actually made some of them more determined!

Throughout the match the girls fought hard, learning as they played, and at times there was some promising hockey from both the defenders and attackers. Mallory, Grace and Alayna got stuck in, in defence and a special mention must be said to Mallory who performed brilliantly today, intercepting and tackling the ball well!

The attackers Tali, Ruby, Tanishka and Emily also got stuck in, although a little more tackling and facing the ball at all times would have been nice! A special mention must be said though to Emily who worked tirelessly in attack chasing down those balls and who was our goal scorer today! Despite the Colts best efforts and a narrow miss on goal near the end, which would have levelled the score, Brambletye took the match, winning 2-1. The Colts should definitely go away with their heads held high though after this match and it was a good learning curve for all!

Player of the match today was Emily picked by Brambletye and my player of the match was also Emily, shared with Mallory! Good luck for the rest of the season girls and well done! TC

Emily, Mallory, Tali, Ruby, Grace, Tanishka, Alayna.
