And so the football season came to an end on a dark and windy afternoon down Effingham Lane the Colts C & D’s welcomed Cumnor House C’s, D’s and E’s.

The afternoon took the following structure.

Game 1: C’s v C’s. Very rarely can you that a 0-0 is an exciting game of football but this one can be put in that category. The game went from end to end without either team taking the chances presented to them. This sums the C’s season up a bit as we have struggled to find the net with any real consistency. The boys battled hard and had their backs against the wall for the last few minutes but managed to keep Cumnor at bay. They can take credit for a positive result in their final game.

Game 2: D’s v D’s. Difficult to give a report here as I was referring the C’s game on the other pitch but when I did glance over I managed to see Elias score our only goal in a 4-1 defeat.

Game 3: D’s v E’s. What a lovely way to finish the season with a 4-0 win, goals from David (2), Harry and Elias secured the victory. It was really pleasing to see the commitment and willingness to support each other.

Sonny again showed that he has come a long way quickly and Karan once again made a number of crucial saves. Well done to both C’s & D’s for your persevering through what has been a difficult season in term of results. IP
