Colts C Football v Brambletye – Lost 1-4

After morning rain the C team were looking forward to deploying their passing game on a slick surface at Brambletye. To the boys disappointment they were greeted by a very small pitch which limited our attacking flair. With both the C and D teams playing at the same time it was left to skipper Joseph G to lead the squad through their pre-match routine. To be honest we struggled to get used to the size of the pitch in the first half  and found ourselves out of position on a number of occasions allowing them to score 3 quick goals this could have been more but for some last ditch tackling from Jamie F and solid goalkeeping from German who is making the number one jersey his own. A half time talking to seemed to do the trick as Robert R and Toby A started to get the better of a crowded midfield. Unfortunately we conceded a 4 which put the game out of reach but to the credit of all the players they kept on working hard with some tough tackling from Benjamin J we were rewarded with a fine goal by Joseph G who thumped the ball home on the half volley. Lani added some physical presence up front in the second half and closed down the defenders well almost creating another chance for Joseph G.

The full time whistle blew and a 4-1 defeat was the end result.

Team: German, Toby A, Joseph G, Lani, Neel,  Jamie, Benjamin, Robert.
