Colts ‘C’ Football v Lancing College Prep

5th October 2016

The Colts C’s winning start to the season continued this afternoon down at a bright and breezy Lancing. Kicking up the hill and into the wind in the first half meant that the boys had to be on the ball from the start. We started slowly and were indebted to Matthew for making a fine save to keep us level. As the half progressed we started to impose ourselves on the game. Luke used his strength to win a 50/50 before then firing past the keeper to give us a 1-0 led at half time.

The message at the break was simple, press the ball and put Lancing under pressure. Lancing were unlucky not to equalise as they hit the post but this seemed to spur us on as Dhruv battled for the ball in the corner and found Luke a couple of yards from goal and he slide the ball in for our second. This gave us the comfort we needed and the boys seemed to relax and we scored our third when their goal keeper dropped the ball at Luke’s feet and he tapped in for his hat-trick. Once again the defence of Ronnie and Ali stood firm keeping another clean sheet which means the Colts C’s have yet to concede a goal this year. Archie and Thomas showed plenty of energy on the flanks and Henri always looked dangerous with his touch and turn.

Well done boys you have won all your games this season so far.

Team: Matthew, Ali, Ronnie, Dhruv, Archie, Henri, Luke, Thomas.
