Colts C&D Football v Cottesmore

Colts C v Cottesmore

Looking for back to back wins for the first time this season the C’s took on local rivals Cottesmore in the M23 derby. Starting with the same side as last week we quickly took the initiative spending a good amount of time in the opponents half however we did have to be aware of the Cottesmore counter attack. We managed to go ahead after Charlie fired home with his left foot (this is starting to become a trademark) and we doubled our lead when Joseph produced a nice finish when put through. The second half was a little more even as we seemed to take our foot of the pedal and Cottesmore forced Keiron into a number of good saves. We managed to get the all-important third when Josh capitalized in a defensive mix up to score his first goal of the

season. Cottesmore got a deserved goal in the last minute so we ran out 3-1 winners. Aaryan had another good game despite getting a couple of knocks and you are always going to get a 100% out of Kye and Elliott. So well done boys keep it up.

Colts D v Cottesmore

On the back of playing well last week and coming away with a defeat the boys were keen to get a win today. We gave D team debuts to Dani T and Shaun V after they both impressed in training this week. Right from the start it was evident that this was going to be one way traffic and it was only a matter of time before we found the net as Ameer slotted home through the crowded penalty area. Cottesmore defended deep and with plenty of number so we were finding it difficult to break down the 5 man back line but a few more chances came and went without scoring. The second half continued in the same fashion but we were finding a little more space with Sam taking control of the game and playing some lovely balls through. Our second goal came from Shaun as he fired home into the bottom corner. I can count on one hand how many times Will touch the ball in goal and both Freddie and Teja once again looked solid at the back, Luca grew into the game and should good strength on a number of occasions. So a deserved victory but I feel that you did play better last week in defeat.

It’s A funny old game. Well done boys. IP
