Copthorne won the toss and chose to bat. We did not do particularly well with the bat, with our openers both getting run out quite early on. Ben occupied the crease for the longest, but none of our batsmen managed more than 2 runs, with Louis the only man unbeaten as we scraped through to the 20th over to eke out a total of 54 runs. We definitely needed to be more pro-active in going for the quick single, as our running was a little conservative.
We did better with the ball in hand than the bat, but Hazelwood batted well, hitting the ball harder and more cleanly than us. Jack W and Louis both bowled quite nicely, but our best bowling came from Jack H and Nathan who each took a wicket, with Nathan bowling 3 overs and only conceding 9 runs. Hazelwood overhauled our total having only faced 11 overs. So a lot to learn, but a good experience for the whole side; hopefully we will be more drilled and sharper in our next match! DJ
